Gauge: 15 sts & 21 rows= 10cm / 4” over Fisherman’s Rib worked flat and in the round on 4.5mm needles after blocking.

Needles: 4.5mm / US 7 circular needle, 80-100cm I 32-40” length (depending on size worked) AND needles suitable for working small circumferences in the round
3mm / US 2.5 needles suitable for working small circumferences in the round
3.5mm / US 4 needles suitable for working small circumferences in the round
Spare 4.5mm circular needle, minimum 60cm I 24” length
Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.

Notions: 1 stitch marker, scrap yarn or stitch holders, tapestry needle

Notes: Aloft is worked in Fisherman’s Rib from the bottom up in the round, to the armholes, before separating for the front and back to work the upper body flat. The shoulders are joined with the 3-needle cast-off. The sleeves are then picked up around the armholes and worked down in the round. Finally, the neckband is finished with a short section of Fisherman’s Rib and a tubular cast-off.
