The most frequently asked question about this pattern is about the note I include recommending that you slip the first stitch of each row. I prefer this look for edges that are exposed so do it on almost all patterns, regardless of the designer’s instructions. But I know that not everyone prefers this look. Therefore, this is a mere recommendation. If you choose to follow the advice, slip the first stitch of each row, no matter what the instructions indicate. Count the slipped stitch as the first stitch. For example, for the first row, you’ll slip 1, knit 15, pm, etc.

Errata: The marker placement in the written section of the pattern is incorrect (charts are fine). Instead, try:

Using long-tail method, CO 137.
Row 1 (RS): K16, pm, k22, pm, k to last 16 sts, pm, k to end.
*
Special Note: If you have added width to your afghan and cast on a number greater than 137 (as per the instructions provided in the pattern), you will need to increase the number of stitches between the two “outside” markers appropriately (i.e. if you added 42 sts, you’ll need to k16, pm, k64, pm, k to last 16sts, pm, k to end.) To check you’ve done it correctly, ensure that when looking at the right side of your knitting, your “outside” markers should be placed 16 sts from each end, and your “middle marker” should be placed 83 sts to the right of the left “outside” marker.

This pattern is also available for $2.99 via the Knit Picks Independent Designers Program (just click here or on the link below).

Among the Bamboo is perfect for knitters of all skill levels - the single color version uses simple purl and knit stitches to create a beautiful textured panda motif, while the full color intarsia panda pops from the bamboo background. Either way, your baby will be snuggled up with a new friend!

Pattern includes large-enough-for-everyone-to-see charted instructions for both versions, as well is full written instructions for the single-color option.

Errata:
On row 17, work the second row of the border checks patterns at the edges. On row 18, work the third row. And so on, working in the established pattern.
