This cardigan is a variation on the FOLKCITY Studio Appledore pullover, named for an ‘edgy island’ that is part of an archipelago on the Maine and New Hampshire border in the Northeast US. Knit flat and seamlessly from the top down, Appledore Again features a mosaic colorwork yoke that is created by knitting slip stitch motifs with one color of yarn worked in a row at a time (no carrying yarns, no catching floats). Appledore Again is designed to be worn with positive ease; there is no waist shaping. The neckline has German short row shaping in the back. Both sleeve and body length can easily be adjusted to suit your individual style. This pattern is written for three sizes.

This pullover is perfectly suited for making use of wool yarns left over from previous projects and experimenting with your own color combinations and gradients.

YARN
This pattern is written for a worsted weight yarn that meets the recommended gauge. The sample pictured was knit using SHELTER by Brooklyn Tweed, 100% American Targhee-Columbia wool (140 yards / 50g per skein) in the following shades and quantities:

MC: Cast Iron, 5 (6, 6) skeins
CC1: Tent, 1 (1, 2) skein(s)
CC2: Tartan, 1 (1, 1) skein
CC3: Camper, 1 (1, 1) skein
CC4: Pumice, 1 (1, 1) skein

GAUGE
To achieve the finished measurements listed below, you’ll need to knit at a gauge of 18 sts and 24 rows per 4 inches/10cm. Gauge was measured over stockinette stitch (in main needles) after blocking. Please note that the row gauge may vary in the mosaic sections of the cardigan. (This pattern includes a brief note on how to finesse gauge in order to create ‘half sizes.’]

SIZES
This pattern is written for three sizes: 1 (2, 3). The sample sweater
pictured is worn with approximately 10 inches of positive ease.

sleeve length from underarm — 14 (15, 15) inches
upper sleeve circumference — 12.5 (13, 14) inches

Body length and sleeve length measurements are easily adjusted
by adding or subtracting rows as noted in the instructions.
