This knitting pattern for a washable, all-cotton classic argyle golf towel is worked using intarsia knitting.

The argyle is worked in the visible center section of the towel when folded and is flanked on either side with a solid color stockinette stitch; Seed Stitch frames the towel on all sides and gives it stability. The Seed Stitch loop at the top makes it easy to secure the towel to any golf bag.

Recommended yarn is Knit Picks® Dishie. I highly recommend Dishie as I feel it is a superior cotton yarn, is available in many colorways, and has wonderful draping characteristics! Colors and approximate amounts to make one towel:

• Main color (shown as “Navy”) : 1.5 - 2 skeins
• Contrast color for diamons (shown as “Pomegranite”) : 40-50 yds
• Contrast color 2 for accents sts (shown as “Crème Brulee) : 15-20 yds

You’ll need #6 needles, both straight and double-pointed for finishing the top edge.

Instructions and a chart are given for creating the yarn bobbins so you have minimal ends to work it: each color runs from the bottom of the towel to the top in one continuous strand!
