CONSTRUCTION OF THE DESIGN
The scrunchie is worked seamlessly in the round using two colours in alternating stripe sequences. You work in simple Stockinette Stitch changing colours at regular intervals to form even stripes.
Once the stripe pattern has been repeated to the desired length, the work is bound off and turned to the wrong side. The piece is then finished by inserting a hair tie through the centre opening and hand sewing the cast-on and bind-off edges together to enclose it.
This design offers a fun and quick project to use up leftover yarns and experiment with different colour combinations or stripe widths.
