This simple sweater features intarsia stars across one side of the front and back and on the sleeve, which changes the project level to Intermediate. The sweater is sized from newborn to 10 years, with separate charts for the smaller and larger sizes. The star pattern begins with several stars at the right bottom of the front and ends with a single star at the left shoulder. There are stars on the left edge of the sleeve. The pattern is reversed on the back.

When I design for babies and children, I try to remember that a sweater will have a longer life if the body and the sleeves are longer. The sleeves on this design are proportionately longer, but the cuffs are narrow to compensate for the length. If you are making an intarsia design for a baby or child, you want it to fit for quite some time!
