While at the h+h trade show in Chicago in June, I visited the booth of Knit the Rainbow, the Service Project Partner of the show. The August newsletter discusses this non-profit organization. I had committed to designing a project with Knit Picks Swish but needed a few more colors to complete the design. After the photo shoot, these mitts will be on their way to Knit the Rainbow.

One of the things that inspired me was a technique I saw on Instagram by Azime Sevim. I thought it would be the perfect way to delineate the color changes. A word about this technique…if you are working it with a loosely plied yarn, such as Swish, you have to be very careful when working the chain stitches to make sure the plies aren’t split. This can be a bit fiddly. The chains, asymmetrically placed on the top of the hands, overlap.
