Aurelie Shawl
Aurelie is a triangular crocheted shawl worked in a beautiful and simple shell stitch. The “spine” of the shawl is a shell motif that is reminiscent of a butterfly. This shawl can be worked in many different gauges.
Blocking is essential to open up the delicate shells and to help the butterflies spread their wings. Aurelie is feminine and whimsical, honoring the rich tradition of crocheted lace shawls, but is easily modernized through color choice and style of wrapping.
Gauge is not important to this pattern, but to enhance the openwork choose a hook that is 3-5 sizes larger
than recommended on the ball band.
This pattern contains written instructions and a chart.
The pink sample shawl was crocheted using 1 hank of Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light (420 yards/384 meters) in colorway Rose.
The gold sample shawl was crocheted using 2 hanks of Knit Picks Gloss Fingering (220 yards/201 meters per hank) in colorway Honey - 25377.
The shawl can easily be made larger or smaller based on the number of row repeats you choose to work.
