“Ava” is one of the “Hollywod Legends” collection of shawls all named after beautiful women who graced Silver Screen during the last century.

The collection has been created for “Dye for Wool” Merino/BabyCamel fingering yarn. The yarn is very special indeed, exquisitely soft and warm, light and fluffy. The choices of colours are fabulous, from very soft and light to bright and saturated, just take a look here.

“Ava” has a triangular shape with intricate lace border and addition of twisted stitches for more visual interest. The size is pretty generous, enough to cover shoulders, yet light and airy to be wrapped around the neck as a scarf.
The bias construction makes it drape beautifully.

“Ava” is knitted in one piece where border is knitted together with main panel on one side and knitted-on on the other side.
It starts with single stitch and ends with only a few stitches, with touch of short-rows for perfect finish.
“Ava” requires only one skein (480m) and there will be very little left after completion.

This shawl requires some lace knitting and patterning on both sides, and is suitable for knitters of intermediate and advanced skill levels.
Instructions are written and charted.

“Ava” is perfect for any season and sure to add a touch of glamour to any outfit!
