I designed this hat to match my Master Hand Knitting Level 3 sweater (Aviemore Pullover). I chose my favorite cable from the sweater, and designed around it. The real challenge was incorporating the crown decreases into the cables so that there were still attractive individual cables and not a chaotic mess; this required numerous tries with graph paper and pencil, but I’m very pleased with the final result. I added a ribbed hem long enough to turn up, to keep ears warm during cold winters.
