Ayr
“Ayr” is a long weekend project if you have the desire for a quick “finished knitted piece” fix. This knitted shawl is the perfect Holiday accessory due to its lightweight and elegant drape. It uses a Bulky yarn paired with a Fingering weight yarn.
To make this shawl wider, just work more repeats, to make this shawl longer just add more stitches (taking into consideration the gauge). If you do make Ayr wider and/or longer make sure you have extra yarn.
To substitute yarns you will need roughly 100 yards of the MC (bulky) and 200 yards of the CC (fingering).
The peach, cream and orange version uses Isis by Colinette and a linen lace yarn by Claudia Hand Paints. The purple version uses 2 skeins Graffiti by Colinette (100%wool with 88 yards) color: Turquoise #21 and 1 skein Fine by Spud & Chloe (80% superwash wool/20% silk with 248 yards) color: Eggplant #7820
My girlfriend is using Noro’s sock yarn and it looks fantastic paired with the bulky Colinette One Zero yarn.
Enjoy!
