Baby Bear Rattle, Teddy Toy
A free version is also available.
A sweet little knitted teddy rattle, perfect for a newborn or as a finishing touch to a new baby gift. This baby bear rattle knitting pattern uses soft King Cole Itsy Bitsy Cotton DK to create a knitted teddy head and shoulder piece, wrapped around a wooden teething ring for little hands to hold.
Designed by Jane Burns, with 18 years of experience creating exclusive baby and children’s knitting patterns.
Worked on 3.25mm needles, this is a confident beginner make with some simple shaping, a little stuffing, and some sewing to bring the teddy to life. With just three small pieces and one ball each of two colours, this is a lovely first toy knitting project if you have never made an amigurumi style knit before.
Easy to follow, with clear instructions throughout. The finished rattle measures 14cm tall by 7cm wide, just the right size for tiny hands, and it is quick to knit up in an evening or two.
A great little stash buster too, since it only needs small amounts of DK cotton. Lovely for a baby shower gift, a quick Christmas knit, or a thoughtful little extra to tuck in alongside a bigger present.
