Ready for an approachable, yet satisfying knit? This asymmetric cowl with a simple ribbed pattern might just be your next project!

Beach Stripes Cowl is heartily influenced by striped beach baskets and umbrellas that I fell in love with on the northern coast of Germany when I lived there. I developed this striking stripe pattern as a reminder of the fond times I visited the beaches near Kiel, Hamburg, Sylt, and Sankt Peter-Ording.

Cowl is worked flat. After the correct length is reached, an i-cord bind of is worked and the ends are woven in. The piece is then blocked. Once the cowl is dry, see figure on how to seam the cast on edge to the top left side using mattress stitch.
