Beauly Scarf
‘C’est un beau lieu,’ French for ‘What a beautiful place,’ was Mary Queen of Scots’ reaction to the grandeur of the scene when she saw Beauly in the North West of Scotland.
Beauly Scarf is ideal for those colder autumn and winter days. It features a combination of cable stitches, a textured broad border and knitted fringed at the beginning and end of the scarf.
The sample scarf shown here is made with approximately 770 yd (700 m) of worsted weight wool blend yarn in rich, variegated autumn colours.
The instructions are given for one size only, but the shawl size is easily adaptable by working fewer or more repeats of the cable pattern.
The instructions are both charted and fully written.
The pattern includes a variety of cable stitches, nupps and a picot cast-on and bind-off.
