Bellina Scarf
This modular scarf shows off variegated yarns but the possibilities are endless:
You could use plain yarns – a different colour for each square or one colour for the large squares and another for the smaller ones.
You could use a thicker or thinner yarn depending on how wide you want it-imagine a smooshy, hugely chunky scarf made from Rowan Big Wool or a thin necklace-like lariat made with a metallic yarn.
Its modular nature means that for a longer (adult) scarf you only need to add more squares. For an even wider scarf in your chosen yarn (ie bigger squares), just cast on extra stitches as desired. The perfect transportable project!
The pattern is a step-by-step 11 page walk-though of the techniques used to make this scarf along with a picture tutorial
