Bentley is named for Wilson Bentley, also known as Snowflake Bentley. He was a pioneer in photography and his works show hundreds of beautiful and perfectly-formed snowflakes. This hat is reminiscent of the slowly drifting snowflakes I imagine he photographed, and which continue to captivate me.
The hat is worked from the bottom up, with a deep ribbing that can be folded up for extra warmth or folded down for a slouchy fit. The stitch pattern is simple and the crown shaping elegant. This hat would be lovely with a big pom pom affixed to the top!
