Beryl Top
Beryl is the perfect project to toss into the bag with your beach reading for a summer weekend! The fingering-weight blend of linen and cotton is just the thing for hot-weather knitting. Worked mostly in simple stockinette, garter stitch and mesh lace add texture at the sides and edges. It’s topped off with a breezy cowl neckline that shows off the beautiful drape of the linen.
When worked true to size, the finished garment will have a sleek fit with minimal positive ease. If you prefer a roomier fit or want a more flowy garment, make the next size up (or go up a needle size). You can also tailor the fit by mixing and matching sizes—for example, if you’re bigger through the hips, cast on for a larger size, then work more decreases through the waist section and fewer increases to match the next smaller size for the top portion. Bust darts as given will fit B-C cup bra sizes; for a tailored fit on a smaller or larger bust, consider decreasing or increasing the number of short rows worked for the darts.
Errata
The first release version of this pattern (version 061714_1) contains an error on page 2. Instructions for Round 2 of the body (bottom of first column) should read as follows:
Round 2: P3, yo, sk2p, yo, p3, k90 (105, 120, 132, 147, 162, 174, 189), pm; repeat from once.
There is also a minor error in the stitch counts after waist decreases in the 44” (XL) size; the totals should be 288 after the decreases, and 324 after increases.
These errors are all corrected in the current release, version 090514_1. Please contact the designer directly (via email or PM on Ravelry) for an updated version if you were not automatically notified! Apologies for any difficulties this may have caused.
