This scarf combines diagonal knitting with reversible cables to create a truly reversible scarf with cables that travel diagonally across the fabric. The setup requires a bit of attention, but once started, the actual knitting isn’t difficult. In addition to the diagonal cables, the difference in row gauge between the cables and the garter background creates a subtle wave pattern along the sides.

Made in aran weight yarn, on size 10 (6 mm) needles, the scarf goes fairly quickly, and the finished look is both classic and unique.
