Black Sheep Ruby Socks
It’s time to round off our 40th birthday celebrations with a fab pair of cheeky socks designed by sock supremo, Winwick Mum. Featuring a naughty extra black sheep who can be placed anywhere on the socks, there are a brilliant project if you want to try fair isle and duplicate stitch (swiss darning) without having to commit to a large garment.
If you are new to socks don’t worry. The pattern is incredibly comprehensive, Christine really does explain every step beautifully. Constructed as top down socks with a heel flap and gusset; the heel is knitted in Heel Stitch which creates a durable, cushioned fabric. The pattern gives options for four different fittings and the length of the sock is easily adjusted for any foot. Your first time doing fair isle? There are both written instructions and charts, making it so easy to follow.
Sara, who is definitely no sock expert, will be making these along with you too. The live cast on will be at 1pm on Friday 21st June 2024 Facebook. Plus there will be lots of hints and tips shared in our Black Sheep Make Along Facebook Group!
The exclusive kits contain 3 balls of our best-selling sock yarn, West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4ply. There’s rouge for the main part of the sock and then black and white for the sheep. It’s worth noting that there will enough left of the black and white to make another pair of socks in each using Christine’s basic sock pattern which is available FREE on her Winwick Mum blog.
All three balls are wrapped up in an organza bag and a 12 page printed pattern, taking you through the project step by step!
