The Blossom Socks are worked seamlessly from the cuff down, combining delicate colorwork with a classic and comfortable sock construction. The socks begin with a 2x2 ribbed cuff, providing elasticity and a neat, stable edge.
The leg starts with a short section of stockinette stitch before transitioning into a colorwork pattern, worked in two contrasting colors. This section creates a decorative, floral-inspired motif that adds visual interest while remaining approachable to knit. After the colorwork, the leg continues in stockinette stitch using the main color, allowing the pattern to stand out clearly.
The heel is worked in a contrasting color using a traditional heel flap and gusset construction, ensuring a secure and well-shaped fit. The slipped-stitch heel flap adds durability, while the heel turn creates a comfortable cup for the foot.
Once the heel is complete, the foot is worked in stockinette stitch for comfort and wearability. The sock is finished with a classic wedge toe, shaped with decreases, and closed using grafting for a smooth, seamless finish.
This construction highlights the beauty of the colorwork while maintaining a simple and wearable structure, making the socks enjoyable to knit and practical for everyday use.
