About Construction
Reflection Socks are thoughtfully designed socks that play with color, texture, and repetition. The pattern explores the same motif that expressed both through colorwork and texture, creating a calm and cohesive design.
The socks are worked from cuff down, beginning with a 2x2 ribbed cuff for comfort and stretch. A colorwork pattern is introduced on the leg. Midway through the leg, this motif is reinterpreted as a textured pattern worked in a single color, mirroring the colorwork. The colorwork pattern then resumes, and after it ends the rest of the leg is worked in main color before transitioning into foot.
After the heel, the entire foot is worked in stockinette stitch, allowing the textured and colorwork sections on the leg to remain the focus. Near the toe, a small section of colorwork returns, followed by a contrasting-color toe, shaped with classic decreases and finished with grafting.
This design offers a mindful knitting experience, balancing engaging detail with simple construction, and is ideal for knitters who enjoy thoughtful use of color and texture.
