I am always looking for interesting stitch patterns employing cables or lace—or both—and the Japanese Knitting Stitch Bible by Hitomi Shida, which I’ve used here, provides me with lots of possibilities. I also enjoy knitting vests since they offer a canvas for experimentintg with stitch patterns in a size that is manageable and not too complex—no sleeves! This pattern, incorporating a simple 4-stitch lace pattern with an easy-to-remember cable pattern allows me to indulge in all of my favorite things.
