Boat Neck Batwing
Boat Neck Batwing is a mesh lace top knit bottom up, in the round. The lace is very simple, comprised of a 4-row repeat. This top starts at the waist and grows outward forming a short batwing sleeve, all knit in once piece. You’ll be able to knit this quickly and with very little yardage. Wear this top out and about for summer, be it on the beach or in town. Tag me @JamesNWatts on Instagram and Tiktok, and use hashtag #BoatNeckBatWing
YARN
Purl Soho Cattail Silk, 100% mulberry silk, 100 grams, 618 yards (565 meters)
I highly recommend using the suggested yarn or a similar yarn. Look for a yarn that is lace weight and has a very light hand. Cat tail silk has a rustic, more rough texture that is well suited to this pattern. If you use a heavier weight or overly drapey yarn, then the mesh will get weighed down when you wear your top pulling the body longer and the sleeves shorter.
