Brackett’s Landing Cowl

When I think about where I knit, the first place I think of is at the coffeeshop. However, I’ve designed 13 coffee inspired patterns and I’m not sure that I have another one in me. So then I thought about our new home in the Pacific Northwest (the Seattle area to be specific). I immediately fell in love with the beaches here. On numerous occasions, I’ve grabbed my current sock project, taken a walk to the beach, and sat and knit while people-watching.
This pattern is inspired by Brackett’s Landing which is a beach area in Edmonds, Washington. I snapped some pictures on one visit and was inspired by the driftwood and ocean waves. This cowl has a cable panel that reminds me of the driftwood while the remainder of the cowl is ocean waves.
So grab your yarn and needles, and cast on your cowl! Let’s spend some time at the beach. Happy Knitting!

This cowl is knit in the round.
The knitter needs to be comfortable with the following techniques: knit, purl, knit through the back loop (ktbl) slipping stitches, and cables. Instructions for all these techniques are included in the pattern.
This pattern includes instructions in both written and chart forms.
