Blacker Swan (DK; 100% Falkland Islands Merino Wool; 110 m / 119 yds per 50g)
Colour A: Tussac (pale green); 6 (7, 7, 8) balls
Colour B: Lavender (purple); 1 ball
Colour C: Balsam Bog (olive); 2 balls
Colour D: Pale Maiden (ivory); 1 ball
Colour E: Sea-Green (turquoise); 4 (5, 5, 6) balls
Colour F: Sky-Grey (deep blue); 2 (2, 3, 3) balls
Colour G: Navy (over-dyed); 1 ball
Gauge:
26 sts x 36 rows = 10 cm / 4” worked over Brioche rib pattern using the larger needles
Always use a needle which results in the correct size after blocking.
Needles:
5 mm (US 8) - straight knitting needles
4 mm (US 6) - 80 cm / 32” circular knitting needle
3 mm - crochet hook
Notions:
stitch holder, stitch markers, darning needle, one button (3.5 cm / 1.5”)
Notes:
The garment is knitted flat and then seamed. When introducing a new colour do not knot the yarns. Leave a 10 cm, 4”, end and continue knitting. Later, thread in the loose ends on the WS along each stripe. Colours may be carried up the side where appropriate.
