It is hard to believe, but the Briochen pattern isn’t just another brioche hat pattern: with two repeating pattern rounds over 8 stitches it’s perfect for brioche beginners and interesting enough for advanced brioche knitters too.

From time to time it happens, that I am about thinking that it’s neither possible nor necessary to design another brioche hat pattern. But after finishing some cable and lace projects, it feels so good to have brioche stitches on my needles again! Actually it feels like coming home!

The hat has a brim, is very stretchy, slightly slouchy and well-fitting at the same time. The pattern is fully reversible and can be knit in three sizes S (adult M, adult L); Block the finished cap over a steep-sided bowl or other head-shaped form to smooth the crown. You can do it, knitters!
