Brünnhilde
These Opera-length gloves take their name from one of the Valkyries in the second opera, Die Walküre, of Wagner’s Ring Cycle. The travelling twisted -stitch pattern is inspired by a beautiful German style of knitting, and the gloves are decorated with nupps - decorative nodes created by making 5 stitches out of one, then decreasing back to one stitch on the following row - which are typically used in Estonian lace. To keep the knitting stress-free, the entire hand is charted so you can easily see how the stitchwork flows.
