Glaistig
These fingerless gloves are worked in an old English lace pattern (collected by Barbara G. Walker in her phenomenal book ‘A Treasury of Knitting Patterns’) and embellished with a picot bind-off. The ribbed cuffs are worked from side to side, and a yarn-covered buckle is sewn to the end of each one. The gloves are named for a beautiful unearthly being from Scottish lore who dwells near water, and happens to be part goat (a pun on the cashmere content of the yarn).
