This is a GAUGE-FREE pattern for your baby/child. Nowhere in the pattern is gauge referred to. You can knit this with Any Gauge of yarn you like. Dive into your stash, choose some yarn and the recommended needle and cast on. NO SWATCH NEEDED. The cardigan is sized using your tape measure as you knit it up. This is also a modular knit: join-as-you-go. Knit a Back Panel. Knit 2 Front Panels. Pick up and knit along the side of the Back Panel, cast on for the side of the neck opening, pick up and knit along the Front Panel and then knit, knit, knit out from there for the Body and then down the Sleeve to the wrist.
