This simply elegant tunic is worked flat in one piece in a nearly seamless manner. Simply fold it over when done and stitch up the side seams. What a fun way to construct a sweater or top!
The stitch pattern resembles little starfish, is easy to memorize, and makes a great take along knitting project.
Cannon Beach is versatile enough to be worn as a casual summer top with jeans or shorts or as a dressy layer over a skirt or slacks.
This shell top is as perfect for a business meeting as it is for a stroll along the beach!
Style points include lots of texture, a notched hemline with a longer back section, loose cap sleeves, boat neck, and a longer tunic length that flatters just about any figure type. The sleeve hems may be folded back and secured with stitches or decorative buttons.
Cannon Beach is named after a quaint little community on the northern Oregon Coast. A simply beautiful place to wander along, looking for starfish, sand dollars and other treasures.
Estimated yarn per size: 774(890, 1014, 1120, 1209, 1349, 1464) yds / 708(814, 927, 1024, 1105, 1233, 1338)m. Actual yarn usage will vary with gauge.
Note: It is recommended that you swatch and block the stitch pattern so you can see how your yarn behaves….if it “grows” or blocks out larger (as mine did with the Sea Silk), then you may wish to make a smaller size.
