Carl’s Cardigan is worked bottom up with raglan decreases on the yoke. The body is worked in smocking st pattern, while the sleeves are worked in stockinette st.

Fingering weight yarn, 5 small buttons

Suggested yarn:
44 g of Pernille from Filcolana (50 g = 175 m/ 191 yards)

Suggested needles:
3.5 mm (US size 4) / 60 cm (24 inches) circular needles, 3.5 mm (US size 4) double pointed needles

Gauge:
35 sts x 30 rows in smocking st pattern on 3.5 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4 inches, 23 sts x 32 rows in stockinette st on 3.5 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4 inches
