Carmen
My Grandma Waalen’s maiden name was Marquand. Grandma had four Sisters and two Sisters-in-Law. When I was growing up I used to love sitting in my Grandma’s kitchen visiting with my Great Aunts, catching up on all the family gossip and hearing about their current projects.
From cooking to canning to “stitching”, I learned it all. As I designed and knit each of the pieces in this collection I thought back to those times and a tear came to my eye, and, a smile to my lips. Carmen is the first of the “Marquand Girls” convertible cowls.
