Catch the Rainbow Socks

It seems that of late, so many of my fellow knitters are knitting up socks in a rainbow colorway. I got caught up in the rainbow loveliness and had to get some yarn of my own that would stripe up like a rainbow. As I debated what pattern to use to knit my rainbow socks, I decided that I needed a truly rainbow inspired stitch pattern to do the yarn justice. Thus, this pattern for Catch the Rainbow Socks was born. In all honesty, after seeing my test knitters’ finished projects, the truth is this pattern looks amazing with pretty much any self striping yarn. So grab a skein of self striping (Rainbow if you can) sock yarn and let’s see if we can Catch the Rainbow!!
Happy Knitting!

These socks are knit using the magic loop method (although the purchaser could easily adapt it for two circulars or double points).
Judy’s Magic Cast On and Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off are used in this pattern.
Knitter needs to be comfortable with the following techniques: KFB, Ktbl, psso, k2tog, p2tog, ssk, M1R, M1L, simple 1x1 cables also called TL and TR, slipping stitches both knitwise and purlwise, yarnovers, and working with yarn held in front / working with yarn held in back. Instructions for all these techniques are included in the pattern.
This pattern includes instructions in both written and chart forms for 64 stitch and 72 stitch socks.
Huge thanks to my amazing test knitters: Vanessa (butterflyjones07), Cristy (cristyray), Christina (choward06), & Tracy (phoenixfire). ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
