Causeway Collection
A scarf, a gilet and a cushion! In 2023 I designed a blanket inspired by the beautiful ‘Causeway Coast’ – the stunning, exhilarating, and dramatic coastline of Northern Ireland. Now, 1 year on, I’ve designed some spin-off Causeway Coast projects - a scarf, a fun gilet and a cushion!
Hexagons were the base for the blanket so these projects play on that incredible shape… With the Giant’s Causeway consisting of over 40,000 hexagonal columns, these ‘Causeway Coast’ projects simply had to be based on a hexagonal design!
Materials: The gilet has been specifically designed using King Cole ‘Toastie’ yarn. It’s super-thick and extra soft for a very cosy extra layer.
For the scarf you can use a variety of yarns and the yarn listed below is a suggestion only. The thicker the yarn the larger the scarf will be. Choose a hook size that is appropriate for your tension and chosen yarns.
• Gilet: King Cole ‘Toastie’ (100% Polyester, 200g/100m), 3 (4, 5) balls in Royal (5989), 1 ball in each of the following colours: Green (5988), Natural (5982) and Sky (5986), 10mm hook and a large 6cm button.
• Scarf: Scheepjes ‘Chunky Monkey’ (100% acrylic, 100g/116m), 2 balls in Fern (2016), 1 ball in each of the following colours: Tawny (1054) and Mellow (1420), 6.5mm hook.
• Cushion: King Cole ‘Toastie’ (100% Polyester, 200g/100m), 1 ball in each of the following colours: Royal (5989), Green (5988), Natural (5982) and Sky (5986), 10mm hook and a 40cm cushion pad.
• Stitch marker, yarn needle and scissors.
