The Celtic Medallion Cowl is one part of The Celtic Medallion Suite, which consists of the Cowl, Hat, and Fingerless Mitts, all using the same basic cable and textured motif.

This is a neck warmer style cowl that hugs the neck, without constricting, and provides just that little extra warmth over your back and shoulders. It fits nicely under a coat or jacket, without the bulk of a scarf.

The fit is one size fits most, but it can be made larger or smaller in circumference by either changing your needle size up or down, or adding or deleting some of the ribbing (in 4 stitch increments) along the back. You can also make the cowl longer at the bottom by adding a few more rows at the beginning, to give you a longer drape over the neck and shoulders.

The lavender cowl shown used 210 yards (192 meters) of Ella Rae Classic Wool in colorway 160. The gold cowl used 200 (183 meters) yards of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran.

There is a chart for the central motif, and completely written out instructions for the charted section.
