This is the kind of shawl you throw on when you have to step out into the snow outside your cabin to get some more wood for the stove… not a frilly, lacy bit of nothing, but an accessory that’s almost a garment of its own. The texture patterns are as simple as can be - but sometimes simple is just the thing it takes. A bit of lace and cables just add the right amount of spice to the mix. Use a light, subtly heathered color: It will bring out the play of light and shadow on the textured surface best.
