Neon pops are added to the ankle, sole, and optional tassel, while the rest of the slipper is knitted in a simple neutral. With bulky-weight yarn, they’re a quick knit. Yarn Manos del Uruguay Maxima (100% extrafine Merino wool; 219 yd 200 m/3½ oz 100 g): #M2426 Stratus (MC) and #M2175 Shocking, 1 hank each. Yarn distributed by Fairmount Fibers.

Needles Size 8 (5 mm): straight or 24” circular (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions Markers (m); tapestry needle with sharp point; 3” piece of cardboard.

Gauge 16 sts and 32 rows = 4” in Garter st, before felting; 21 sts and 42 rows = 4” in Garter st, after felting.

• These slippers are worked in one piece with no seams. The sole is knit flat using the contrast color beginning at the toe and working to the heel. Then, stitches are picked up and knit around the perimeter of the sole using the main color, and the body of the foot is worked upward in the round. The upper foot is shaped with short-rows and ends with an I-cord Bind-off at the ankle.

• A tassel is added after felting. Use a tapestry needle with a sharp point to weave the tassel tie into the felted slipper.

• Slip all slipped sts pwise with yarn in front unless otherwise noted.

• These slippers are designed to fit women’s US shoe sizes 5/6 (6/7, 7/8, 8/9, 9/10, 10/11).
