“Claudia knew that she could never pull off the old-fashioned kind of running away. That is, running away in the heat of anger with a knapsack on her back.”

E.L. Konigsburg
From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler

Checker Cab square is a fresh take on the checkered pattern one might find emblazoned on a New York City taxicab, which Claudia longs to take but her brother Jamie says is beyond their budget. The checkered pattern is created with knitted lace rather than the black and yellow squares on an actual taxicab. The finished square can be used as a generous mug rug, or you can make multiple squares and seam them together for a lovely blanket.

Size: 7 inches square
