Checker Cab square is a fresh take on the checkered pattern one might find emblazoned on a New York City taxicab, which Claudia longs to take but her brother Jamie says is beyond their budget. The checkered pattern is created with knitted lace rather than the black and yellow squares on an actual taxicab. The finished square can be used as a generous mug rug, or you can make multiple squares and seam them together for a lovely blanket.
