Christening Baby Shoes
These little baby shoes remind me of traditional booties for christenings, baptisms & such. The ties will help them to stay on little feet and there are 2 styles for the cuff – one with a simple (boy) edging and one with a more ‘frilly’ (girl) design.
The pattern uses the following stitches – chains, single crochet, half-double crochet, double crochet and slip stitches. In addition there are back-post single crochet stitches (directions are in the pattern).
Size E (3.5mm) or F (4.0mm) hook (depending on size being made), 1-2 ounces (30-55 grams) of sport weight cotton yarn (Sinfonia used for models - Paton’s Grace would work too) and approximately 36 inches (90 cms) of 1/4 inch (.62 cm) wide ribbon are needed to make one pair.
The pattern includes instructions for making the baby shoes in sizes newborn-3 months, 3-6 months & 6-12 months.
