This clutch is equal parts on trend and classic, making this quick project ideal for gift giving, spicing up any outfit or selling at craft fairs.

This professionally edited and tested pattern includes directions for making the messenger bag as well as the folded clutch, a detailed photo tutorial and resources to help with sewing the lining. I will update everyone who downloads a copy with the chart once it is ready.

Size
The handbag when folded is 9” by 7” inches. if made in DK weight yarn. and 10” by 8” inches if made by worsted weight yarn.

Skill Level
Easy You will need to be familiar with basic crochet stitches and techniques. All patterns are written in English and in standard US terms.

Yarn Requirements
300 yards of any DK or Worsted Weight cotton. I have listed Paint Box Cotton DK in the pattern. My team of testers used Peaches and Cream, Sugar and Cream, Paton’s Amazing Grace, Takhi Cotton Classic and one used “random left overs from kitchen towels” and each one came out beautifully.

Notions and other materials
Needle for weaving in ends. If you wish to make a lining for your bag, I suggest 1 yard of any heavy fabric, like denim or twill. Want to get fancy, add a contrasting interior fabric and a 7 or 9 inch zipper.
