This Aran-inspired Christmas stocking pattern includes both charts and written instructions to suit your personal preference! Just one skein of Cascade Ecological (undyed) or Eco+ (beautifully dyed colors) will complete one stocking with enough left over for a hat or fingerless mitts.

If you knit in the Continental style (“picking”), be sure to check your gauge for both circular and flat knitting. The equal distribution of knit and purl stitches should give you a balanced gauge, but it’s good to be sure.

The samples shown were knitted using US Size 6 (4.0mm) needles, but the designer is a naturally tight knitter so be sure to find the needle size that gives you the correct gauge - the stocking should be tightly knitted.
