This hat is a really fun and quick project that allows you to experiment with marled or handspun + solid color yarns, while also playing with a really fun stitch.
It is worked from the brim to the top, with decreases shaping the crown of the hat.

SIZES
1 (2, 3). To fit snugly a head circumference of approx. 21-22 (23-24, 25-26)“ 52.5-55 (57.5-60, 62.5-65) cm.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Circumference: 15¼“ ((16¾, 18½)” 38 (42, 46) cm.
Length: 8 ¾“ 22 cm.

MATERIALS
Multicolor Yarn (MC): 1 (1, 2) skeins or 90 (100, 120) yards 82 (92, 109) m of Plump by Spincycle Yarns (100% wool; 100 yds 92 m / approx. 100g). The sample was made using color Ghost Ranch.
Solid Color Yarn (CC): 0.3 skein (or 33 yards/30m) of Cardo by Manos del Uruguay (100% wool; 109 yds 100 m / 100g). The sample was made using color Peach Blossom.

Tips for substituting
The main yarn can be substituted with 2 strands of light DK, or sport weight… or 3 strands of fingering weight. Marling different colors will have a similar effect to the yarn that I used.

Needles: US 8 (5 mm) circular needles, 24” 60 cm long.
Other notions: Stitch marker, tapestry needle.

GAUGE
16 sts and 24 rows to 4” 10 cm in (K2, P1) ribbing, on US 8 5 mm needles after blocking.
Before measuring, make sure your swatch goes through the same blocking and pinning process as your beanie will.
