“Cicles” (“chewin gum” in the dialect spoken in Turin) is an oversized top down sweater.
Using the first two colours, knitting starts with striped shoulder tabs. Then, using the third colour, the stitches along the sides of the two tabs are picked up; at the same time the stitches for the neckline are cast on. All of these stitches together are used to form the front.
The front of the sweater is shaped with short rows. Once this step has been completed, the stitches are set aside and the back is knit in the same way.
The garment is joined in the round. Knitting continues top down, with the insertion of a striped section, after which the work continues with colour 2 to the desired length of the garment.
The stitches along the armholes are picked up and the sleeves are knit in stripes, evenly distributing the decreases. The sleeves are knit using two different colours.
All borders are in twisted rib stitch.

Sizes:
XS (S, M, L, XL, XXL) to fit bust size 76 (86, 96, 106, 117, 127) cm – 30 (34, 38, 42, 46, 50) in.
Shown in size M with bust size 96 cm – 38 in and with 26 cm – 10 ¼ in of positive ease.

Finished measurements:
Bust circumference: 98 (112, 122, 137, 147, 166) cm – 38 ½ (44, 48, 54, 58, 65 ¼) in.
Length from underarm: 30 (33, 33, 37, 37, 40) cm – 11 ¾ (13, 13, 15 ½, 15 ½, 15 ¾) in.
Sleeves length: 45 (46, 46, 48, 48, 49) cm – 17 ¾ (18, 18, 18 ¾, 18 ¾, 19 ¼) in from underarm.

Gauge:
19 sts and 26 rounds = 10 cm – 4 in in st st (worked in the round and after blocking).

Yarn and Needles:
SESIA Sublime (75% Wool and 25% Silk; 115 m – 126 yds / 50 g – 1.76 oz. skein):
First colour (FC): 5355 (beige); 2 (2, 2, 2, 3, 3) skeins (145 165, 180, 215, 250, 280 m – 159 181, 197, 236, 274, 307 yds);
Second colour (SC): 342 (bordeaux); 4 (4, 4, 5, 6, 6) skeins (370 420, 460, 540, 580, 650 m – 405 460, 504, 591, 635, 711 yds);
Third colour (TC): 295 (pale pink); 3 (4, 4, 4, 5, 6) skeins (325 375, 405, 460, 500, 580 m – 356 411, 443, 504, 547, 635 yds).
Circular needles:
size 4 mm – US 6 with a 40 cm – 16 in and an 80 cm – 32 in cable.
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Other:
2 stitch markers.
Scrap yarn.
Tapestry needle and scissors.
Pins and a tape measure for blocking.

“Cicles” (in dialetto torinese “gomma americana”) è un maglione lavorato dall’alto verso il basso.
Con i primi due colori, si lavorano gli inserti righe posizionati sulle spalle. Successivamente, usando il terzo colore, sui lati lunghi di questi, vengono riprese delle maglie; contemporaneamente verranno montate a nuovo le maglie per lo scollo. La somma di tutte queste maglie andrà a formare il davanti.
Si modellerà la maglia con una serie di ferri accorciati e alla fine di questo passaggio i punti verranno lasciati in sospeso. Si procederà allo stesso modo per il dietro.
Quindi si unirà il lavoro in tondo, e si continuerà a lavorare a maglia rasata dall’alto verso il basso, inserendo una sezione lavorata a righe. Si prosegue il lavoro con il secondo colore fino a raggiungere la lunghezza desiderata.
Si riprenderanno le maglie lungo gli scalfi e si lavoreranno le maniche a righe, distribuendo le diminuzioni. Le maniche saranno completate usando due colori diversi.
Tutti i bordi sono lavorati a coste ritorte.

XS (S, M, L, XL, XXL) vestono un giro seno di 76 (86, 96, 106, 117, 127) cm.
Le foto si riferiscono alla taglia M indossata da una modella con un giro seno di 96 cm e con un agio di 26 cm.

Misure finite:
Circonferenza del seno: 98 (112, 122, 137, 147, 166) cm.
Lunghezza dallo scalfo: 30 (33, 33, 37, 37, 40) cm.
Lunghezza delle maniche: 45 (46, 46, 48, 48, 49) cm dallo scalfo.

Campione:
19 m x 26 giri = 10 cm lavorati a maglia rasata (in tondo e dopo il bloccaggio).

Filato e aghi:
SESIA Sublime (75% lana e 25% seta; 115 m per gomitolo da 50 g):
Primo colore (PC): 5355 (beige); 2 (2, 2, 2, 3, 3) gomitoli (145 165, 180, 215, 250, 280 m);
Secondo colore (SC): 342 (bordeaux); 4 (4, 4, 5, 6, 6) gomitoli (370 420, 460, 540, 580, 650 m);
Terzo colore (TC): 295 (rosa pastello); 3 (4, 4, 4, 5, 6) gomitoli (325 375, 405, 460, 500, 580 m).
Ferri circolari numero 4 mm con cavo da 40 cm e 80 cm.
Se necessario modificare il numero dei ferri per ottenere il campione corretto.
Altro:
2 marcapunti.
Filo di scarto.
Ago da lana e forbici.
Spilli e metro da sarta per il bloccaggio.
