About the pattern

A small, quick and easy crochet bag.
Coillte (pronounced queel - cha) is the Irish word for a woods or forest. This pattern is inspired and motivated by the beauty of an autumn forest.
This bag is a perfect little size for a woodland walk. Just big enough for your phone, some dog treats and a roll of doggy door doo bags.

It can also be used as a gauge swatch for the Coillte Pullover.

Sizes
When worked to the stated row count and stated gauge, your bag will be 18 cm/ 7 inches wide, with an opening of 12.5 cm/ 5 inches at the top. It is 15 cm/6 inches in height. You can also add rows for a taller bag.
If making a bag, gauge is not critical. If using to swatch for the Coillte Pullover, it’s important to match gauge.

Tension/Gauge
3 stitch reps = 4 in/10 cm; 8 rnds = 4 in/10 cm

Skill level
This is an advanced beginner to intermediate level pattern. It is a 1-2 hour make for an experienced crocheter.
It uses a classic stitch pattern of shells and front post stitches, which is easy to memorise.

Crochet language
This pattern is written in English, with both U.K. and US versions available.
