Computer Cat
Some cats are lap cats, but all cats are laptop cats! (Just ask anyone with a laptop and a cat.)
Computer Cat is a multitasker, working hard at getting comfy and deleting your progress at the same time. An inspiration to screen addicts everywhere!
The cat is a quick, seamless knit. (It looks especially cute knit in a fuzzy mohair or baby alpaca blend.)
The computer is worked flat and seamed (with a little cardboard or stiff paper inserted for structure). The pattern comes with five BONUS intarsia colorwork screen options, plus three templates for you to design your own screen graphic!
Use fingering-weight yarn and size 1 (2.25mm) double-pointed needles for the original mini size, or scale it up with a thicker yarn and correspondingly sized needles. A great project for scrap yarn!
Or get a a kit with super-soft and fluffy yarn from Gnome Depot Fiber, in white or a surprise color.
Computer Cat is modeled after a cat that appears in my picture book Catside Up, Catside Down: A Book of Prepositions, published by Feiwel and Friends. It makes a terrific gift to go with the book!
The pattern is now published in Knit Mini Amigurumi Cats! out June 30th, 2026 from David & Charles.
The pattern is worked in the round on double-pointed needles.
Note: The finished cat is very small and not a suitable toy for small children.
