“Conchiglia” is an oversize poncho knit from the top down.
It is knit in two colors: one for the front and one for the back. The front and back are identical, making it possible for the poncho to be worn either way to match the color you prefer to your outfit.
Knitting starts with the garter stich border for the front.
The work continues with a section of short rows; the centre panel is also started in this section. It is knit in a shell pattern to add a lively touch to the garment. When this section is completed, continue knitting until the desired length is reached, ending with a garter stitch border.
Next, stitches are picked up along the cast-on edge; at the same time, the neckline stitches are cast on. The back will be knit the same as the front.
The buttons are purely decorative and are used to close the sides of the poncho.

Sizes:
XS (S, M, L, XL, XXL) to fit bust size 76 (86, 96, 106, 117, 127) cm – 30 (34, 38, 42, 46, 50) in.
Shown in size M/L with bust size 96 cm – 37 ¾ in and with 28 cm – 11 in of positive ease at bust.
When choosing a size, consider that the poncho has been designed to be oversized. If you want the same look as the model in the photograph, choose a size that is 26/32 cm – 10 ¼ / 12 ½ in larger than your actual bust measurement.

Finished measurements:
Neck circumference: 48 (48, 54, 54, 60, 60) cm – 19 (19, 21 ¼, 21 ¼, 23 ¾, 23 ¾) in.
Bust circumference: 102 (112, 124, 134, 149, 159) cm – 40 ¼ (44, 49, 52 ¾, 58 ¾, 62 ¾) in.
Length: 48 (48, 54, 54, 60, 60) cm – 19 (19, 21 ¼, 21 ¼, 23 ¾, 23 ¾) in measured along the sides.

Yarn and needles:
KATYA Lincys (Worsted weight yarn; 100% Linen: 100 m – 109 yds / 50 gr – 1.76 oz. ball):
First colour (C1): 308 (Blue); 4 (4, 5, 5, 6, 7) balls (370 400, 450, 520, 590, 645 m – 405 438, 493, 569, 646, 706 yds);
Second colour (C2): 303 (Burnt Orange); 4 (4, 5, 5, 6, 7) balls (370 400, 450, 520, 590, 645 m – 405 438, 493, 569, 646, 706 yds).
3.5 mm – US 4 circular needles with an 80 cm – 32 in cable, or else straight knitting needles.
If necessary, please adjust needle size to obtain the specified gauge.
Other:
2 stitch markers.
Tapestry needle and scissors.
8 buttons. Since the buttons are only decorative, size is not important. You can choose buttons that are all the same, or two series of four buttons each, matching them to the two colors of the poncho.

Gauge:
21 sts and 28 rows = 10 cm – 4 in in st st (after blocking).

“Conchiglia” è un poncho oversize lavorato dall’alto verso il basso.
È lavorato usando due colori: uno per il davanti e uno per il dietro e le due parti sono uguali. In questo modo il poncho può venire indossato abbinando il colore che si preferisce all’outfit del giorno.
Il lavoro incomincia dal davanti e si lavora un bordo a maglia legaccio.
Il lavoro prosegue con una sezione lavorata a ferri accorciati nella quale si incomincia anche il pannello centrale lavorato in un punto pizzo che ricorda una conchiglia e che dona al poncho un tocco di vivacità. Una volta terminata questa sezione, li lavoro continua diritto fino alla lunghezza desiderata,
terminando con un bordo a maglia legaccio. Ora si riprendono le maglie lungo il bordo dell’avvio e allo stesso tempo di formerà il collo. Il dietro sarà lavorato come il davanti.
I bottoni solo puramente decorative e sono usati per chiudere l’apertura laterale del poncho.

Taglie:
XS (S, M, L, XL, XXL) vestono un giroseno di 76 (86, 96, 106, 117, 127) cm.
Le foto si riferiscono alla taglia M indossata da una modella con un giroseno di 96 con un agio di
28 cm. Se desiderate la stessa vestibilità della modella in foto, dovrete scegliere una misura che sia di 26/32 cm circa più ampia del vostro giroseno reale.

Misure finite:
Circonferenza del collo: 48 (48, 54, 54, 60, 60) cm.
Circonferenza del seno: 102 (112, 124, 134, 149, 159) cm.
Lunghezza: 48 (48, 54, 54, 60, 60) cm misurati lungo i lati; il poncho misurerà alcuni cm in più lungo la sezione centrale del pizzo.

Primo colore (C1): 308 (blu); 4 (4, 5, 5, 6, 7) gomitoli (370 400, 450, 520, 590, 645 m);
Secondo colore (C2): 303 (arancione bruciato); 4 (4, 5, 5, 6, 7) gomitoli (370 400, 450, 520, 590, 645 m).
Ferri circolari numero 3.5 mm con cavo lungo 80 cm (si possono usare anche ferri diritti della misura corrispondente). Se necessario modificare il numero dei ferri per ottenere il campione corretto.
Altro:
2 marcapunti.
Ago da lana e forbici.
Spilli e metro da sarta per il bloccaggio.
8 bottoni. La misura non è importante perché avranno solo uno scopo decorativo. Si possono scegliere tutti uguali o due serie da quattro per abbinarli ai due colori del poncho.

Campione:
21 m x 28 f = 10 cm lavorati a maglia rasata (dopo il bloccaggio).
