About Construction
The Connection Socks are worked cuff down, combining textured stitches and colorwork with a classic, comfortable sock shape. The cuff features three-stitch cables with twisted knit stitches, creating a structured and engaging start. This is followed by a heart-inspired colorwork pattern on the leg, which can be worked using one main color with either one or three contrasting colors, allowing for flexible color choices.
After the colorwork section, the sock continues in the main color, with additional increases worked before the heel to improve the fit of the upcoming short-row heel. The heel is worked in a contrasting color using short-row shaping, creating a smooth and comfortable fit without a gusset.
Once the heel is complete, the foot is worked entirely in stockinette stitch using the main color, keeping the focus on comfort and wearability. The socks are finished with a contrasting-color toe, shaped with classic decreases, and closed using grafting for a seamless finish.
This construction strikes a balance between decorative details and practical shaping, making the pattern engaging to knit while remaining comfortable and versatile to wear.
