Coreopsis
The inspiration for this sweater were some beautiful hand crafted buttons. I bought yarn to compliment them and this sweater was born!
It is a bottom up sweater, the hem features the “flowers in a row” stitch to add a sweet scallop and add to the flower theme. The offset button closure on the front of the bodice adds interest and makes it easy to get on and off your child.
Instead of 3 buttons, the sample uses a ribbon in place of the bottom button to “tie” into the contrast color band (sorry, bad pun). You can of course use three buttons. The possibilities are endless. Winter buttons and colors would be lovely.
The sleeves are picked up around the armhole and worked top down for an almost seamless design.
You will need about 20-30 yards of the contrast color in addition to the MC.
