Croquet Socks
by Debbie Orr
These socks were designed with a feel of genteel summer sports in mind. They might be worn whilst casually sipping Pimms on a terrace in the summer sunshines waiting to participate in a game of croquet.
The stripes of a perfectly manicured croquet lawn inspirate the ribbed pattern on the heel, and the intricate way the balls weave in and out of the croquet hoops when tapped with the mallet led to the twisty, interlinked cable design.
I dyed up a right grass green to complement the design, but they would work well in any semi-solid colourway.
These socks are knitted from the top down using either the Magic Loop technique or a set of five DPNs.
